It All Starts Tomorrow

12 Feb

GirlsBestPhriend went over 500 views yesterday, 540 at last check to be exact.  Now while that wouldn’t mean a lot to newly minted millionaire blog queen Arianna Huffington, to this blogger, it’s nothing short of amazing!  So thanks to all of you who have been reading on a regular basis or even those who just pop in every now and then.

Many of you have asked if there’s a way to “subscribe” to the blog so you know when there’s a new post.  Yes there is and if you contact me separately by email ( I will tell you how.  (It’s easy but I don’t want to bore all my readers with the info here.  I mean I want to get to 600 views!)  So keep reading and please consider passing the link on to the other baseball fans in your lives.

OK, enough about me.  Back to baseball.

As even the most casual baseball fan knows by now pitchers and catchers report tomorrow.  Here are the rest of the key dates you may want to know.  Pitchers and catchers have their first workout on February 14th (an appropriate date for our love affair with baseball to get underway.)  Position players report February 18th and the first full team workout is on the 19th.  The traditional first Spring Training warm-up game against Florida State University is February 24th and then the first official Spring Training game (DVR alert!) is against the Yankees on February 26th at 1:05.

Baseball’s back.

It all starts tomorrow.

Have any team’s first sprints and jumping jacks ever been more anticipated by a fan base?

It all starts tomorrow.

Has time ever moved more slowly than since the anouncement that the Phils signed Cliff Lee on December 15th?

It all starts tomorrow.

Can we finally stop talking about Juan Castillo and start talking  about Juan Samuel (the Phillies new third-base coach.)  Welcome back, Sammy!!

It all starts tomorrow.

From slug fests to pitcher’s duels; from a multi-million dollar payroll to dollar dog days at the ballpark; from extra innings to rain delays; from Opening Day to…..      Don’t worry. I’m certainly not going to put that in writing but

It all starts tomorrow.

I’ve subscribed to your blog and when I get that e-mail I’m a happy camper.
    It all starts tomorrow!

Obviously, the ref made the wrong call. I closed my eyes, pictured Spencer’s feet planted firmly on the hardwood and imagined the immortal word that comes after the rallying chant of daa ta daa da da….”charging.”
