Keep On Trucking

13 Feb

The Phillies equipment truck has left the building !  (Citizens Bank Park, that is.)   That’s right, sports fans.  One of my favorite signs that Spring Training is near is the departure of the Phillies equipment truck filled with everything and anything a bunch of ball players could possibly need.  Like what, you might ask?

Let’s start with the little stuff.  On board will be 15 cases of gum.  Don’t worry there will be regular and sugarless.  What’s so important about gum you might ask?

I REST MY CASE.

And for those who prefer crunching instead of chewing, no worries, there are 12 cases of sunflower seeds on board., too.

GOTTA KEEP THE GUY WITH THE NEW DEAL HAPPY!

Of course there are the expected items:

300 helmets  (Please remind Chase to wear one, will you?)

600 caps

NO SHE WON'T BE THERE BUT I COULDN'T RESIST THE PIC.

450 pairs of socks

And 300 pairs of sneakers to go with them.

They’ll bring 600 pairs of pants and 2000 shirts.  Why so many?

THESE PHILLIES PLAY DIRTY.

Add 200 fleeces, 150 pairs of batting gloves.

What else?  Oh yeah, baseballs!  How many?

15,000!!!

That’s a lot of “That ball’s out-a-here’s!”

And we can’t forget the bats, 1200 of them.

OOPS. SORRY WRONG PICTURE!

So there you have it.  The snow is melting, the truck is on its way and pitchers and catchers will be arriving on Saturday.

But you know there is at least one guy who is already in Clearwater doing his thing.

THE "DOC"TOR IS IN.

I won’t be the least bit surprised if it’s Roy “the Doc” Halladay greeting the truck upon its arrival!

Safe travels for all!!!
